Here’s what the opportunity supported through our TEKsystems Global Services (TGS) Talent Acquisition Team requires: We are seeking a Senior AWS Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) AI/ML Engineer to lead the hands-on development and implementation of a cloud-native document automation platform for a state healthcare agency. This role demands deep engineering expertise across AWS services, particularly in intelligent document processing and AI/ML technologies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in delivering production-grade AWS IDP solutions using a serverless architecture. This is a remote role working within an Agile Scrum team. Key Responsibilities • Hands-on Development of IDP Pipelines: Build scalable, event-driven, and serverless IDP solutions using AWS services, including Textract, Comprehend, Comprehend Medical, Bedrock, S3, Lambda, Step Functions, and EventBridge. • AI/ML Engineering: Develop and fine-tune workflows for OCR, NLP, document classification, summarization, and structured data extraction using Bedrock, Comprehend, and Textract. • Data Pipeline Engineering: Design and implement robust data pipelines to process and curate extracted document data using AWS Glue, Kinesis, and other streaming/batch processing services. • Search and Indexing Integration: Implement intelligent search features with Amazon Kendra or OpenSearch to enable document and metadata retrieval. • Security and Compliance Implementation: Apply HIPAA-aligned security practices, including encryption, logging, identity and access controls (Cognito, Entra ID), VPC configuration, and WAFv2 protection. • Agile Collaboration: Actively participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies, contribute to sprint planning, code reviews, and knowledge sharing. Partner with QA, DevOps, and product owners to deliver high-quality releases. • Client-Facing Engineering Support: Participate in technical discussions with client teams and stakeholders. Demonstrate solutions, troubleshoot issues, and gather feedback for iteration. Required Skills and Experience Six plus years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in AWS serverless and cloud-native development. Proven success delivering intelligent document processing projects using: Amazon Textract, Amazon Comprehend / Comprehend Medical, Amazon Bedrock and Bedrock Data Automation, AWS Lambda (TypeScript/JavaScript/Python), Step Functions, EventBridge, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, Cognito, KMS; AWS Glue and Amazon Kinesis for data lake and pipeline processing; Amazon Kendra and Amazon OpenSearch with knowledge of various search strategies for structured and unstructured data. Strong expertise in developing serverless applications with a focus on modular, testable, and scalable code. • Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, and Python for backend development and AWS service integration. • Experience developing infrastructure as code using AWS CDK (preferably in TypeScript). • Knowledge of HIPAA-compliant engineering practices and secure data handling. • Comfortable using Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps tooling in cloud environments. • Excellent debugging, testing, and performance optimization skills. Preferred Qualifications • AWS Developer Associate or Specialty certifications (e.g., Machine Learning, Serverless). • Experience with AWS CDK for provisioning and managing complex infrastructure. • Prior experience in healthcare, public sector, or regulated data environments. • Experience integrating SSO with Cognito and enterprise identity providers such as Microsoft Entra ID. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $119800.00 - $179800.00/yr. We reserve the right to pay above or below the posted wage based on factors unrelated to sex, race, or any other protected classification.
