This is a highly strategic and hands-on technical leadership role focused on designing and scaling AI-assisted software development practices across enterprise platforms. You will establish engineering standards, architect AI-agent workflows, build guardrails and evaluation frameworks, and influence the future of how software is created. What You'll Do • Design and implement agentic software development workflows using tools such as Claude Code and other AI coding agents • Define feedback loops, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, autonomy boundaries, and rollback mechanisms • Architect and develop Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers and tool integrations for AI agents • Establish observability, evaluation, and quality measurement frameworks for AI-generated code • Lead architecture decisions across Java microservices, Node.js services, React microfrontends, and Python tooling • Design scalable REST APIs and headless component architectures • Drive Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and C4 architecture modeling practices • Promote Test-Driven Development (TDD), Playwright testing, and contract testing across engineering teams • Define CI/CD best practices for safely integrating AI-authored pull requests • Establish security standards for AI-assisted development, including prompt injection protection and permission boundaries • Mentor senior and staff engineers on AI-augmented engineering practices • Create technical design documents, RFCs, and architectural roadmaps Required Qualifications Agentic Development & AI • Experience using Claude Code or similar AI coding agents in production environments • Strong understanding of Model Context Protocol (MCP) • Experience building and integrating MCP servers • Knowledge of context engineering, prompt management, prompt caching, and long-running agent workflows • Understanding of AI security concerns, including prompt injection and agent authorization boundaries Backend & Architecture • Deep expertise in Java-based microservices architecture • Strong REST API design experience • Domain-Driven Design (DDD) • C4 architecture modeling and documentation • Experience with Node.js and Python • MongoDB design, optimization, and scalability Frontend • Strong ReactJS experience • Headless component architecture • Microfrontend design patterns Testing & Quality • Test-Driven Development (TDD) • Playwright end-to-end testing • Contract testing tools such as Pact Preferred Qualifications • Experience defining AI engineering standards across enterprise teams • Experience implementing AI governance and observability frameworks • Background leading large-scale software modernization initiatives • Passion for emerging AI technologies and developer experience innovation Why Join Us? • Work at the forefront of Agentic AI and AI-Augmented Engineering • Influence engineering practices at enterprise scale • Lead the adoption of next-generation software development workflows • Collaborate with highly skilled architects, engineers, and AI practitioners • Make a direct impact on how software is built in the age of AI Pay and Benefi tsPay Range Minimum: $ 68000 per ye arPay Range Maximum: $ 128,000 per ye ar HCLTech is an equal opportunity employer, committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all applicants and employees regardless of race, religion, sex, color, age, national origin, pregnancy, sexual orientation, physical disability or genetic information, military or veteran status, or any other protected classification, in accordance with federal, state, and/or local law.
