Post-Graduate Yearlong Internship Opportunity: 2026–2027
Granite Partners is seeking a curious, driven, and tech-savvy individual to join our team as an HR AI & Data Analytics Intern for a full year beginning in summer 2026. This is a unique opportunity to sit at the intersection of data analytics, human resources, and emerging technology. Using artificial intelligence tools and Domo, our enterprise business intelligence and data analytics platform, you can help solve real HR business challenges and advance our vision of world-class wellbeing across the Granite Companies.
During the internship, you will gain experience in HR analytics, AI-powered automation, business intelligence, data-driven wellbeing strategy, and HR systems to help grow the Minnesota-based Granite Companies and create value for all stakeholders.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
As an HR AI & Data Analytics Intern, you will receive training, professional development, and direct mentorship from HR and systems leaders across the firm. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of stakeholders across the Granite community and bring AI and data to life in ways that advance HR effectiveness and world-class wellbeing.
Training & Development
• Drive HR and wellbeing strategy through technology – use AI and Domo to support and advance HR priorities across the talent lifecycle, including wellbeing analytics, engagement, benefits, performance management, talent planning, compensation, learning and development, and recruiting.
• Solve problems like a consultant – learn to structure and break down problems, manage a project plan, research and synthesize data, and translate meaningful insights into actionable HR and wellbeing recommendations.
• Communicate and present recommendations like an executive – embrace opportunities to develop your communication skills and prepare compelling data-driven presentations for HR leaders and stakeholders.
• Think like an owner – learn to make decisions with the long-term view of the Granite community’s 100-year sustainability objective.
Coaching & Mentorship
• Receive personalized coaching from an assigned mentor at Granite Partners who will help ensure you acquire skills, develop relationships, and grow as a future business leader, while getting the support and tools you need to complete your projects.
• Be paired with an Executive Champion who will act as a guide for personal development throughout the internship.
Experience the Granite Community
• Understand how Granite Partners approaches wellbeing and creates a culture of inclusion, using data and AI to help advance that vision.
• Participate in and support enterprise-wide HR Affinity meetings and experience collaboration among HR leaders across the Granite Companies.
• Gain exposure to the digital strategy and transformation projects taking place throughout the Granite community.
• Spend time with other Granite Company interns at Granite Intern Day – a day of connecting, networking, and building relationships that features the FranklinCovey “7 Habits of Highly Effective People” forum.
• Participate in a range of social activities to get to know the firm and have fun in St. Cloud and the Twin Cities.
Potential Projects
This section outlines some projects the team envisions as possible objectives for this yearlong internship. Throughout the internship, projects will be collaborative in nature – you will always work closely with the Granite Partners team, Granite Company HR leaders, and systems and technology partners. The actual selection of projects will be determined by business need and will evolve throughout the internship year.
Example projects include:
• HR Affinity AI & Analytics Upskilling Program. Design and deliver a structured learning program for the HR Affinity, helping company HR teams build capability in AI tools, prompt design, and Domo. Develop a self-paced resource library, facilitate hands-on workshops, and create an ongoing “show and tell” cadence for HR Affinity members to share discoveries, build confidence, and apply new skills to their day-to-day work.
• HR Process Mapping & Automation Opportunity Assessment. Map current-state workflows and identify the highest-value opportunities for AI and Domo automation. Conduct interviews, document process flows, and deliver an opportunity roadmap with effort and impact scoring to become the foundation for automation work during the internship.
• AI-Assisted Onboarding Experience. Redesign the onboarding experience using AI to generate personalized welcome communications, role-specific 30/60/90-day plans, and automated FAQ responses — triggered by new hire data from existing HR systems. Build a Domo dashboard that gives managers real-time visibility into onboarding completion and early engagement signals.
• Performance Management Writing Assist. Develop AI-assisted tools and structured prompts to help managers efficiently deliver higher-quality, more consistent, and less-biased performance reviews. Help develop a calibration tool that reveals rating distributions and flags inconsistencies across teams, advancing transparency across performance management.
• Recruiting Funnel Analytics & AI Screening Tools. Connect talent acquisition data to Domo, creating cross-company visibility of key recruiting metrics, including time-to-fill, offer acceptance rates, and source effectiveness. Develop AI tools to create question banks and tailored interview guides, helping hiring teams move faster and with greater consistency.
• Personalized Team Member Experience & Talent Analytics. Design an AI-driven framework that draws on talent data, including tenure, role, engagement scores, and development goals to suggest personalized development recommendations, recognition moments, and retention insights for managers. Help build a Domo-powered talent planning view that maps high-potential team members and identifies succession gaps to give HR leaders the data they need to grow and retain talent.
