ABOUT THE ROLE: Join Skechers USA as a Full Stack & GenAI Engineer Intern and gain hands-on experience building modern software solutions that leverage both full stack development and emerging GenAI technologies. This internship is designed as a learning-first opportunity for students who are passionate about software engineering, curious about AI, and eager to grow their skills in a real-world enterprise environment. You will work alongside experienced engineers, contribute to meaningful projects, and learn how cloud-native applications and AI-powered solutions are developed at scale. At Skechers, we value curiosity, innovation, and continuous learning. If you're excited about building applications, experimenting with GenAI, and learning how technology drives business outcomes, we'd love to hear from you. Step into the future with Skechers USA! WHAT YOU'LL DO: • Assist in the development of full stack applications, including frontend user interfaces and backend services. • Support the creation and enhancement of REST APIs and backend services under the guidance of senior engineers. • Contribute to GenAI use cases, such as chatbots, internal tools, or AI-assisted workflows. • Assist with prompt engineering, testing, and experimentation with Large Language Models (LLMs). • Learn and apply concepts such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), vector search, and AI-driven workflows. • Participate in research and exploration of emerging AI technologies, tools, and frameworks. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, QA, UX, and product stakeholders. • Write clean, maintainable code and assist with unit testing and basic validation. • Help document solutions, learnings, and technical designs. • Participate in Agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives. • Assist in preparing demos, presentations, or reports to share progress and learnings. WHAT YOU'LL BRING: • Strong interest and exposure in Full Stack Development and GenAI technologies. • Passion for learning new technologies and experimenting with innovative ideas. • Curiosity-driven mindset with a willingness to ask questions and explore solutions. • Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. • Demonstrated interest in being business-value driven, with the ability to understand a business problem and explore how AI-enabled solutions can improve efficiency, automation, or support business growth. • Ability to articulate technical ideas and AI-driven solutions in simple, clear business terms, focusing on the value and impact rather than just technology. REQUIREMENTS: • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Exposure or Experience (Academic or Project-Based) with: • Programming Languages: JavaScript, Python (preferred), Java (nice to have) • Frontend Technologies: React, Vue, or similar frameworks (basic knowledge is sufficient) • Backend / APIs: Node.js or Python-based services, REST APIs • AI / GenAI Concepts: LLMs, prompt engineering, AI workflows (hands-on experience not required, curiosity is key) • Cloud & Dev Tools: AWS (e.g., Lambda, S3, EC2 - exposure preferred), Git/GitHub • Databases: SQL and/or NoSQL fundamentals The pay range for this role is $25/hr.
