Internship opportunity to innovate and develop AI/ML-enhanced power system software within GE Vernova's Grid Software product suite.
Your Role
Here’s what you will be doing:
• Collaborate on enhancing existing Grid Software solutions and developing new, commercially viable features.
• Solve real-world industry and customer challenges using electrical engineering principles, physics, and AI/ML techniques.
• Contribute to pilot projects and advanced R&D initiatives shaping the future of grid technology.
About You
What you'll need:
• Currently enrolled in a PhD or master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or STEM majors, preferably with thesis work in Electrical Engineering focused on Power System Operation.
• Minimum cumulative or in-major GPA of 3.0/4.0.
• Commitment to full-time work (40 hrs/week) during the summer internship.
• Hands-on experience developing machine learning models, including deep neural networks, graph neural networks, and time series forecasting applied to power system data and grid operations.
• Familiarity with intelligent agent frameworks, prompt engineering, embeddings, and vector databases to enhance grid software decision-making.
• Foundational knowledge of power system concepts such as load forecasting, state estimation, fault detection, and grid stability, integrated with AI/ML techniques.
• Willingness to work in an office located in Bellevue, WA.
• Authorization to work in the US without sponsorship.
Compensation & Benefits
• Hourly pay ranging from $21.00 to $36.00 based on years of undergraduate/graduate study completed.
• Relocation assistance reimbursing reasonable, documented expenses for initial reporting and return to school/home if permanent address is over 50 miles from work location.
