Senior AI Engineer $175,000 Base Salary Pittsburgh THE COMPANY A highly secure, technology‑driven organisation is expanding its advanced AI engineering function. The team focuses on building intelligent autonomous systems capable of operating across complex digital environments. This is a fast‑moving, deeply technical setting where your work directly supports high‑impact, mission‑critical operations. THE ROLE You’ll join a specialist engineering team responsible for developing next‑generation agentic interaction capabilities. The focus is on enabling AI systems to interact with user interfaces, tools, and workflows in a structured, reliable, and autonomous manner. You will design state‑ and action‑driven architectures that allow AI agents to reason, plan, and execute behaviours across front‑end and back‑end systems. This role is ideal for someone who has built LLM‑driven solutions end‑to‑end and thrives in high‑ambiguity environments. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Build multi‑agent systems incorporating planning, memory, routing, and scalable tool‑use • Develop modular “agent skills” that interface with internal tools, services, and data pipelines • Design front‑end interaction architectures with explicit state/action modelling for agent‑controlled UI behaviour • Create evaluation frameworks, observability layers, and regression testing for agent reliability • Work collaboratively with product and internal teams to solve complex workflow and interaction challenges EXPERIENCE REQUIRED • 5+ years designing, building, and deploying production‑grade ML or LLM‑powered systems • Strong Python engineering skills • Hands‑on experience with LLM integration, agent frameworks, and autonomous interaction models • Cloud engineering experience (AWS preferred) • Familiarity with LLM algorithms, interaction patterns, and UI‑driven agent behaviour • Comfortable operating in fast‑paced, high‑ambiguity technical environments • Good grounding in Git, CI/CD, and modern software engineering best practices DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE • Multi‑agent coordination and tool orchestration • Startup or zero‑to‑one engineering exposure • Eligibility to work in secure or sensitive environments • Experience with GenAI coding best practices and/or agent‑centric development workflows THE OFFER • $175,000 base salary • Work on advanced, next‑generation agentic interaction systems • High‑impact projects with deep technical ownership • Collaborate with a top‑tier engineering team in a mission‑oriented environment
