Role Overview:
We are seeking a hands-on Forward Deployed AI Engineer to work directly with business stakeholders to identify operational pain points and rapidly deliver practical AI-enabled solutions. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable sitting with the business, understanding real-world workflows, and using modern AI development tools to build functional internal applications and prototypes.
This is not a role focused on building technology for technology’s sake. The successful candidate will be expected to solve business problems with pragmatic, usable solutions. The work will involve leveraging AI orchestration tools, AI-generated code, and modern development platforms to create internal-facing applications that improve efficiency, automate manual processes, and enhance business capabilities.
The ideal candidate may come from a full-stack engineering background, a technical business analysis background, or a hybrid technology/business role. Deep enterprise architecture or 15+ years of full-stack development experience is not required. The most important requirement is the ability to understand business problems, translate them into working solutions, and deliver quickly in partnership with end users.
Key Responsibilities:
• Partner directly with business-line stakeholders to understand pain points, workflow inefficiencies, and opportunities for AI-enabled automation.
• Design and build practical internal applications, tools, and workflow solutions using modern AI development and orchestration platforms.
• Use AI coding tools such as Codex, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar platforms to accelerate solution development.
• Translate business requirements into functional prototypes, MVPs, and production-ready internal tools.
• Work in an embedded, forward-deployed capacity with business users to iterate quickly based on feedback.
• Focus on usability, functionality, and business value rather than over-engineering or unnecessary technical complexity.
• Collaborate with internal technology, product, operations, legal, compliance, or risk stakeholders as needed.
• Build solutions that are fit-for-purpose for internal users, recognizing that applications may not require external-facing scale, enterprise-grade cyber hardening, or 10K-user performance requirements.
• Identify where AI orchestration, automation, workflow tooling, and AI-generated code can reduce manual effort or improve decision-making.
• Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience working in a technology, engineering, technical business analyst, solution delivery, or product-oriented role.
• Hands-on experience using AI coding or AI development tools such as Codex, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar.
• Ability to build functional applications, prototypes, workflow tools, or automations using modern development frameworks and AI-assisted coding.
• Strong understanding of how to translate business problems into practical technology solutions.
• Comfortable working directly with business stakeholders in an embedded or consultative capacity.
• Ability to operate in ambiguous environments and quickly clarify requirements through stakeholder conversations.
• Strong problem-solving mindset with a focus on business outcomes, not just technical execution.
• Ability to move quickly from concept to working solution.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, AI Engineer, Full Stack Engineer, Technical Business Analyst, Solution Engineer, or Product Engineer.
• Experience building internal business applications, workflow tools, dashboards, automations, or lightweight enterprise applications.
• Familiarity with AI orchestration, LLM-enabled workflows, prompt engineering, agentic tools, or AI-assisted software development.
• Experience working in financial services, legal, compliance, operational risk, or regulated business environments is helpful but not required.
• Familiarity with APIs, databases, scripting, cloud platforms, or low-code/no-code tools.
• Experience delivering MVPs or rapid prototypes in partnership with business users.
