The role... Working in a team of analysts located in the firm’s London, New York, and Boston offices, the Senior Analyst will undertake strategic research on topics at the intersection of factory/manufacturing operations, industrial performance and digital technologies. As a Senior Analyst you will be looking at how digital technologies impact outcomes such as process and production optimisation, predictive maintenance, energy & resource management as well as design engineering for asset heavy industries across oil and gas, manufacturing, mining and utilities. Success in the role requires an interest in digital technology and a background in computer science, chemical or mechanical engineering along with hands-on experience of working in a factory or manufacturing plant setting or at an industrial software or in the manufacturing division of a consultancy. We are looking for candidates who are interested in joining our award-winning research firm, focusing on a research area that requires passion and practicality, and building a career in one of our fastest growing research teams. Excelling in the role requires an enthusiasm for understanding how technology can improve business outcomes, experience in producing high-quality written deliverables, and the ability to contribute to client-facing engagements. Successful candidates will have the ambition to undertake a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research in collaboration with other analysts and present research findings to client executives. Our analysts benefit from our structured ‘Analyst Training Framework’ which offers tailored learning which will equip high performers to progress their careers further at Verdantix. We are considering applications in the range of $90,000 - $105,000 (dependent on experience) plus a competitive quarterly bonus. What You’ll Be Doing… • Conducting market research based on the established portfolio of Verdantix methodologies. • Undertaking research interviews and conversations with individuals in leading roles in the IAM industry. • Efficiently writing high-quality research documents in English. • Producing reports on technology vendors and market news based on briefings. • Building quantitative models to size and forecast industrial technology markets. • Working on consulting projects relating to industrial asset maintenance, AI, safety, sustainability and industrial technologies including wearables, drones, digital twins, data science and software. • Analyse vendors and products for industrial software and smart factory technologies; assessing capabilities, innovation, and competitive positioning. • Advise clients such as software vendors, asset-intensive enterprises, and investors on strategy, market opportunities, and technology adoption. • Develop strong client relationships with individuals in leading operations, engineering and maintenance roles • Attending industry events and speaking engagements to help raise the profile of Verdantix in the market. • Developing trusted relationships with Verdantix clients and senior industry decision makers. • Supporting marketing efforts by writing blogs and engaging in social media activities. About You… • Educated to undergraduate level with a preference for top-tier universities, ideally with a degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering and computer science. • Interested to see candidates with relevant post-graduate qualifications (Masters or PhD). • Preferably 3+ years work experience in a factory role preferably with exposure to industrial technologies within engineering, operations or maintenance. • Preferably 3+ years work experience within industrial software business or consultancy. • Experience in conducting research interviews and contributing to the development of research reports is a plus. • Demonstrable passion for industrial technologies, stays informed on market developments and emerging technologies such as AI • Proven ability to quickly write high quality reports for a business audience. • Quantitative skills and knowledge of Excel to manipulate large data sets and apply mathematical concepts. • Experience in developing PowerPoint decks for a corporate audience. • Broader interest in the future of industrial technologies.
