World Kia Joliet and World Hyundai Matteson are building the next generation of AI-powered business tools for our dealership operations. We develop, test, and refine tools that solve real operational challenges every single day.
We're not just a dealership that uses technology. We're operators who build innovative software solutions to improve every aspect of our business, from sales processes to service department efficiency.
We're looking for our first full-time technical team member to help us scale what we've built.
The Role
You'll split your time between three critical areas:
Building (50%)
• Take the owner's concepts and turn them into production-ready web applications
• Develop AI-powered tools: calculators, analyzers, training systems, customer-facing applications
• Integrate LLM APIs (Claude, GPT, etc.) into practical business solutions
• Leverage AI development tools like Claude Code, Lovable, Cowork, and Cursor to accelerate development
• Build clean, professional interfaces that non-technical users love
• Create tools that improve dealership operations and customer experience
Training & Support (40%)
• Train sales and service staff at both dealerships on new tools and systems
• Create documentation, video tutorials, and training materials
• Provide ongoing support when team members have questions or issues
• Gather feedback from users to improve tools continuously
• Be the bridge between technical capabilities and business operations
IT Support (10%)
• Handle technical issues across both dealerships (beyond basic printer problems)
• Troubleshoot software, network, and hardware issues
• Ensure systems stay running smoothly so the team can focus on customers
What You'll Work On
Current projects include:
• AI-powered repair order analysis system with customer-facing inspection reports
• Warranty program profitability calculators
• Service department efficiency tools
• Sales process automation and training systems
• Marketing automation and customer communication tools
You'll have direct access to the owner daily, working on real problems with immediate business impact.
Who You Are
Technical Foundation:
• 3-5 years building web applications (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, or similar stack)
• Hands-on experience integrating AI/LLM APIs into production applications
• Familiarity with modern AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Lovable, Cursor, Cowork, v0, Bolt, or similar platforms)
• Can build full-stack solutions from concept to deployment
• Comfortable with databases, APIs, and cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, etc.)
• You ship working software, not just prototypes
Communication & Teaching:
• You can explain technical concepts to non-technical people
• You enjoy training others and seeing them succeed
• You're patient but persistent in driving adoption of new tools
• You can create clear documentation and training materials
Problem-Solving Mindset:
• You thrive on variety (building, training, troubleshooting all in one week)
• You're resourceful and figure things out when you don't know the answer
• You see opportunities to improve processes, not just maintain them
• You embrace AI as a productivity multiplier, not a replacement for thinking
• You want to build something innovative in an unexpected industry
Bonus Points:
• Experience in automotive retail, dealership operations, or DMS systems
• Background in instructional design or adult learning
• Previous experience at an early-stage company or startup
• Entrepreneurial mindset and interest in product development
• Active user of emerging AI development tools and workflows
What We Offer
Compensation: $75,000 - $85,000 based on experience
