No Relocation Assistance Offered Job Number #170578 - Piscataway, New Jersey, United States Who We Are Colgate-Palmolive Company is a global consumer products company operating in over 200 countries specializing in Oral Care, Personal Care, Home Care, Skin Care, and Pet Nutrition. Our products are trusted in more households than any other brand in the world, making us a household name! Join Colgate-Palmolive, a caring, innovative growth company reimagining a healthier future for people, their pets, and our planet. Guided by our core values—Caring, Inclusive, and Courageous—we foster a culture that inspires our people to achieve common goals. Together, let's build a brighter, healthier future for all. We’re looking for a hands-on AI Architect who can design and build AI-enabled solutions end-to-end, using strong software architecture fundamentals and pragmatic engineering execution. This role will define reference architectures and technical standards, lead solution design for high-impact initiatives, and actively prototype and deliver production-grade capabilities across AI/ML and modern cloud-native systems. This position is based out of the Piscataway, NJ location. Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position. What You’ll DoArchitecture & Technical Leadership • Define and own reference architectures for GenAI use cases: • Establish technical standards for reliability, security, observability, and maintainability across AI systems. • Drive architecture decisions across latency, cost, reliability, data protection, and enterprise integration. Engineering & Delivery • Lead the technical design and development of proofs-of-concept, pilots, and production solutions. • Build and ship AI applications using modern engineering practices (API design, testing, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, monitoring). • Translate business problems into implementable designs (data flows, integration patterns, performance constraints, failure modes). AI Enablement • Design and implement LLM-enabled systems. • Create practical approaches for model evaluation, prompt/version management, and lifecycle considerations (latency, cost, drift, monitoring). • Drive architecture choices for model hosting and consumption (managed services, containerized deployment). Cloud & Platform Architecture • Architect scalable deployments in AWS/Azure/GCP; define environments, networking, identity, secrets, and observability. • Build for production readiness: monitoring, tracing, incident response runbooks, SLOs, and cost management. • Define patterns for model gatewaying (multi-provider support), caching, rate limiting, and fallback behavior. Mentorship & Collaboration • Mentor engineers and technical leads on architecture, design reviews, and implementation best practices. • Promote reusable components and patterns so teams build faster and avoid “one-off” AI experiments. Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent practical experience). • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 4+ years designing and delivering distributed/cloud-native systems. • Proven experience as a Software Architect / Solutions Architect / Staff Engineer (or equivalent), owning architecture decisions from concept to production. • Demonstrated hands-on full-stack or backend engineering capability (APIs, services, data integration), with evidence of shipping production systems. • Strong cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP): designing, deploying, and operating secure, scalable services. • Practical, applied experience delivering AI/ML capabilities in real products or enterprise systems (not only coursework). Preferred Qualifications • Experience with LLM-based architectures (RAG, tool use/function calling, orchestration frameworks, prompt/versioning strategies). • Experience with LLMOps tooling (pipelines, model registry, experiment tracking, evaluation harnesses). • Familiarity with vector databases and search (semantic search patterns, hybrid retrieval, chunking strategies, relevance evaluation). • Strong communication skills: able to explain complex tradeoffs to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Compensation and Benefits Salary Range $120,000.00 - $165,000.00 USD Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles. Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies. Our Commitment to Inclusion Our journey begins with our people—developing strong talent with diverse backgrounds and perspectives to best serve our consumers around the world and fostering an inclusive environment where everyone feels a true sense of belonging.
