AI Solutions Architect Location: Hybrid – Arlington, Virginia Employment Type: Full-time BizFirst is assisting our client with the hiring of an AI Solutions Architect to lead the design and technical architecture of AI systems that will power a significant transformation of the organization’s internal operations. This is a senior technical leadership role for someone who can bridge business strategy and engineering execution – defining how AI capabilities are structured, integrated, and scaled across the enterprise. Our client is a mid-market professional services organization that is actively rethinking how it designs and executes its core business operations through artificial intelligence and automation. The company is building a dedicated AI capability to embed machine learning and generative AI into its most critical internal workflows – from decision support and process automation to real-time analytics and intelligent document processing. What will you do The ideal candidate brings 8–12 years of technical experience, including a minimum of 3–5 years designing and delivering AI or ML systems at the enterprise level. You have the depth to evaluate technology options, design robust and scalable architectures, and guide engineering teams through complex implementation challenges. Equally important, you communicate clearly with senior business stakeholders – translating technical decisions into language that drives organizational alignment and investment decisions. Responsibilities: • Lead end-to-end architecture design for the organization’s AI platform, including data pipelines, model infrastructure, integration layers, and enterprise systems connectivity. • Evaluate and recommend AI technologies, cloud platforms, LLM providers, and tooling that align with the organization’s technical environment and operational requirements. • Define reference architectures and design patterns for recurring AI use cases, establishing standards that accelerate development and reduce technical risk. • Partner with business and operations leaders to understand strategic priorities and translate them into AI architecture decisions and implementation roadmaps. • Provide technical oversight and guidance to ML engineers, data scientists, and integration developers throughout the delivery lifecycle. • Lead technical discovery engagements with internal stakeholders, assessing current-state systems, data assets, and integration requirements for AI solutions. • Design security, governance, and data privacy controls into AI systems from inception, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements. • Represent the AI platform’s technical vision in senior leadership forums, providing clear architectural guidance and managing expectations around complexity and timelines. Requirements: US Citizen or Permanent Resident authorized to work in the United States. Experience: 8–12 years of technical experience, with 3–5+ years in an architecture role for AI, ML, or large-scale data systems. AI & ML Architecture: Demonstrated experience designing production AI systems, including model serving infrastructure, data pipelines, and integration with enterprise applications. Cloud Platforms: Deep proficiency with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and hands-on experience with managed AI/ML services (SageMaker, Vertex AI, Azure ML, or equivalent). GenAI: Working knowledge of large language model deployment patterns, including RAG architectures, LLM orchestration frameworks, and enterprise integration strategies. Communication: Ability to produce clear architecture documentation, lead design reviews, and present technical strategies to executive audiences. Preferred: Experience architecting AI solutions in a professional services, financial services, or enterprise consulting context. Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns, API gateway design, and event-driven architectures relevant to AI system connectivity. Background in data governance, AI model governance, or enterprise risk frameworks for AI. Experience evaluating and selecting commercial AI platforms (Palantir, DataRobot, C3.ai, or similar) alongside open-source solutions. Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; or equivalent demonstrated expertise. Benefits: • Family Health Care (54% cost covered for the entire family) • Family Dental (54% cost covered for the entire family) • Family Vision (54% cost covered for the entire family) • Flexible Spending Account • Performance bonuses tied to project and delivery milestones • Lifetime Event Bonuses (e.g., new child, marriage) • Profit-sharing arrangement for any work brought into the company • Unlimited Leave with Approval • 401k – 100% employer match on first 4% invested • $1,500 annual training and conference budget Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Position Work Authorization: US Citizen or Permanent Resident; no active security clearance required.
