AWS Senior Practice Engineer - Strategy Team
Primary focus: hands-on engineering within AWS Strategy service teams. This role designs and implements agentic solutions using Amazon Bedrock and AgentCore, serverless platforms, containerized workloads, modern web applications, and data platforms. No travel required.
Key Responsibilities
Engineer production-grade agentic applications using Amazon Bedrock and Amazon Bedrock AgentCore (runtime, gateway, tools), including safe tool invocation and evaluation strategies.
Design and implement serverless architectures using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, EventBridge, SQS/SNS, DynamoDB, and S3 with observability (logs/metrics/traces) and operational readiness.
Build containerized services on ECS/Fargate and/or EKS, including service networking, IAM, secrets management, and deployment automation.
Develop infrastructure-as-code using AWS CDK (TypeScript preferred) and CloudFormation; contribute to Terraform modules and Helm charts for standardized deployments.
Design and implement data platforms and storage patterns using RDS/Aurora, OpenSearch, and Redshift, including schema design, indexing, and performance tuning.
Build modern front-end applications and internal tools using React 19, Zustand, Ant Design, and Vite; integrate with backend APIs and event-driven workflows.
Implement CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for application and IaC delivery, including testing, security scanning, and environment promotion.
Collaborate with service teams to deliver working code, reference implementations, reusable components, and technical guides that accelerate customer outcomes.
Pre-Sales Support
Work with Solution Architects and Solution Executives, when needed, to develop scope, prepare estimates, prepare implementation plans, and ensure project risks are assessed during sales cycle for project services and outsource engagements.
As needed, understand client business and technical requirements and communicate internally with Solution Architects and Solution Executives to ensure solution matches client needs.
As needed, support Solution Architects and Solution Executives in process to calculate risk premium, prepare and review estimates, and prepare project pricing.
Required Qualifications
At least 5 years of experience as a Cloud Engineer or equivalent role
At least 5 years of AWS services experience is required
Hands-on experience engineering solutions on AWS with strong proficiency in infrastructure-as-code.
Strong coding skills in JavaScript/TypeScript and Python, with experience building and operating production services
Proven experience with serverless design and implementation (Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, EventBridge, SQS/SNS)
Hands-on experience with Amazon Bedrock and agentic frameworks; AgentCore experience strongly preferred.
Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, ECS/Fargate and/or EKS) and packaging/deployment workflows
Experience designing and implementing data solutions using RDS/Aurora, OpenSearch, and/or Redshift.
Front-end engineering experience using React 19 with modern state management and component frameworks (Zustand, Ant Design, Vite).
CI/CD experience using GitHub Actions; familiarity with CloudFormation, Terraform, CDK, and Helm charts for repeatable deployments.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience building agent evaluation harnesses, prompt/tool testing, and operational guardrails for agentic systems.
Experience with OpenSearch vector search and RAG patterns; familiarity with embedding pipelines and retrieval evaluation.
AgentCore experience with advanced agentic architecture including the use of long term and short term memory strategies, fine grained policies using AgentCore policy, and use of MCP tools including code interpreter and browser in production-grade systems.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $133100.00 - $199700.00/yr.
