We’re in an unbelievably exciting area of tech and are fundamentally reshaping the data storage industry. Here, you lead with innovative thinking, grow along with us, and join the smartest team in the industry. This type of work—work that changes the world—is what the tech industry was founded on. So, if you're ready to seize the endless opportunities and leave your mark, come join us. Our Global Supply Chain Operations team spans technical operations, manufacturing, product supply, service logistics, and facilities. What makes the team special is the people: we build close-knit partnerships, come together a couple of times each year for team events, and work hard to make sure employees enjoy coming to work and have fun along the way. As a Supply Chain Operations Intern, you’ll take on a high-impact project that helps shape the future of the organization. You’ll collaborate closely with experienced mentors and cross-functional teams to solve complex challenges, build practical skills, and deliver work that makes a real difference. Interns will be matched to one opportunity based on interest and team needs—please indicate your top 1–2 areas of interest when applying. The Role As an AI Engineering Intern within the Ops Business Intelligence team, you will transform cutting-edge LLM technology into practical tools for global supply chain efficiency. You will lead the development of OpsBot, a functional AI prototype designed to automate decision-making across manufacturing and logistics workflows. Working alongside a diverse team of technical developers and business experts, your mission is to prove the tangible value of generative AI in a high-tech operational environment. What You'll Do • Build the Clean to Ship (CTS) Copilot: Develop a functional AI Copilot that transforms the complex Clean to Ship environment into an intuitive, user-centric interface. This tool moves beyond theoretical AI by converting raw operational data into actionable intelligence, demonstrating the high-stakes value of LLMs with direct impact on users • Integrate Operational Data: Establish robust data connections between selected internal sources and your AI model using SQL and APIs to ensure high-quality, context-aware outputs. • Design User Interfaces: Create a basic, intuitive UI suitable for internal demonstrations, allowing stakeholders to interact with and provide feedback on your AI solutions. • Document and Present Solutions: Create comprehensive documentation covering system design and limitations, culminating in a final presentation and live demo to leadership and key stakeholders. • Collaborate Across Functions: Partner with supply chain experts to translate complex operational bottlenecks into technical prompt engineering and Python-based logic. What You Bring • Availability and Enrollment: Ability to work full-time for 12 consecutive weeks during Summer 2026 while currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering (with a focus on AI and analytics), Software Engineering, or a related field. • Core Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python and experience working with data through SQL, APIs, or data processing tools. • AI/ML Foundations: A foundational understanding of AI/ML concepts, particularly NLP and Large Language Models, demonstrated through academic projects, internships, or personal repositories. • Technical Communication: The ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical partners and a clear, curiosity-driven communication style. • Development Best Practices: Experience using GitHub for version control and familiarity with LLM APIs or open-source frameworks for project-based applications. • Ownership and Adaptability: A strong work ethic and the initiative to solve problems and debug code independently while remaining open to feedback and evolving project requirements. We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave. Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location.
