THE ROLE We're looking for a part/full-time developer (20-40 hrs/week) who gets genuinely excited about building AI-powered tools that people actually use. Not demos. Not slide decks. Real tools that our team opens every morning. Your first project: a Microsoft Outlook Add-in powered by the Claude API (Anthropic) that helps our operations team draft and rewrite freight emails instantly — with our company's communication rules and tone baked directly into the AI. It's a focused, well-scoped project with a clear outcome. After that, there's no shortage of interesting problems to solve. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Hands-on experience building production tools with LLM APIs — Claude, OpenAI, or similar. Strong JavaScript and TypeScript skills — this is non-negotiable for Office Add-in work. Solid understanding of Node.js, React, and REST API integration. Real experience crafting system prompts that perform reliably in a business environment, not just in a sandbox. Someone who communicates proactively, hits deadlines, and doesn't need to be managed. BONUS POINTS Prior Microsoft Office Add-in development. Background in logistics, freight, or supply chain. Experience with Make, n8n, or Zapier. Python skills for scripting or backend work.
