This role involves designing and developing scalable enterprise solutions, building robust technical architectures across applications and infrastructure, and contributing to the full technology lifecycle from application design to deployment. You will work with modern frameworks, cloud platforms, and DevOps practices to architect and deliver production ready applications and infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Solution Architecture & Design • Design and architect scalable full-stack applications across multiple technology domains • Develop comprehensive technical solutions that align with business objectives and organizational standards • Create detailed architecture diagrams, design documentation, and technical specifications • Establish architectural patterns and best practices across development teams • Evaluate and recommend technology stacks based on project requirements and organizational needs • Lead architecture reviews and provide technical guidance on design decisions DevOps & Infrastructure Architecture • Design comprehensive CI/CD pipeline architectures and deployment strategies • Architect infrastructure solutions using containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) • Design infrastructure-as-code strategies and establish governance for infrastructure management • Architect scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure across multiple environments • Design disaster recovery, backup, and high availability strategies • Establish DevOps practices, tooling strategies, and automation frameworks • Design multi-cloud or hybrid cloud architectures based on organizational needs • Architect solutions for configuration management, infrastructure provisioning, and deployment automation Platform Architecture & Integration • Architect and design integrations across enterprise platforms and systems • Develop integration patterns and establish API-first integration strategies • Design data models, process flows, and automation frameworks • Architect workflow orchestration and automation solutions • Integrate enterprise systems, third-party applications, and custom solutions into cohesive platforms • Design reporting, dashboards, and analytics solutions • Lead platform optimization and performance tuning initiatives Technical Architecture & Integration • Architect robust frontend and backend service solutions using modern frameworks • Integrate multiple systems, APIs, and third-party services into cohesive platforms • Implement microservices architecture patterns and design distributed systems • Design and optimize integration frameworks and data pipelines • Develop and extend enterprise platforms and custom frameworks Observability & Reliability Architecture • Design monitoring and observability strategies for applications and infrastructure • Define service level objectives (SLOs) and reliability targets for critical systems • Architect solutions for system observability, performance tracking, and health monitoring • Establish best practices for alerting and incident response frameworks • Design systems with resilience, fault tolerance, and high availability in mind • Consider operational aspects and maintainability in architectural designs Architecture Governance & Leadership • Lead and facilitate Architecture Review Boards (ARBs) to evaluate technical designs and architectural decisions • Establish and maintain architecture guilds and communities of practice across the organization • Define architecture standards, guidelines, and governance frameworks for technology adoption and use • Conduct architecture reviews and provide recommendations for design consistency and compliance • Drive architectural consistency across multiple teams and projects • Mentor and guide junior architects and technical leaders, contributing to technical leadership Collaboration & Quality Assurance • Collaborate with product, engineering, business, operations, and infrastructure teams to translate requirements into technical solutions • Ensure scalability, reliability, security, and compliance in all architectural decisions • Participate in technical reviews, design validation, and architectural decision-making • Participate in architecture guild meetings and community forums to share knowledge and drive technical excellence • Mentor and guide junior architects and technical leaders, contributing to technical leadership • Document architectural decisions and establish knowledge sharing practices across teams Required Qualifications Education & Experience • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field • 15+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, or infrastructure design • 10+ years of experience in architecting and designing large-scale systems or infrastructure solutions Technical Expertise • Cloud Platforms: Deep understanding of AWS, GCP, or Azure architecture, services, and design patterns • Containerization & Orchestration: Strong knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration strategies • Infrastructure Design: Experience architecting scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure solutions • CI/CD & Deployment: Understanding of CI/CD pipeline design, deployment strategies, and infrastructure provisioning • Infrastructure as Code: Familiarity with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible) and practices • Microservices & Distributed Systems: Strong understanding of microservices patterns, APIs, and distributed system architecture • Integration Patterns: Experience with system integration patterns, message queues, event-driven architectures, and API design • Security & Compliance: Understanding of cloud security, infrastructure hardening, and compliance requirements Core Competencies • Strong system design and architectural thinking skills • Proven ability to make sound technical decisions and trade-offs • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities • Strong communication and documentation skills • Understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices • Knowledge based out of Baltimore, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $156000.00 - $234000.00/yr. We reserve the right to pay above or below the posted wage based on factors unrelated to sex, race, or any other protected classification.
